Gourmet cuisine in Auburn? you betcha!

"Bootleggers" is the place you take your out-of-town relatives for an impressive meal, without breaking the bank. Don't get me wrong: Bootlegger's is NOT cheap.....they're rather pricey (for Auburn) but overall they would be comparable to a night out at a posh San Francisco or Beverly Hills bistro (without needing to travel to the "Big City"....LOL). PLEASE: DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS TO THIS PLACE..... you will ruin the atmosphere for other diners who are trying to impress their out-of-town relatives...... My favorite is the "Mixed Grill", an entree that provides generous sampling of three different meat items from the menu (usually beef, seafood, and chicken or pork). My wife loves their lamb dishes, and daughter usually chooses the Skirt Steak entree.

Fabulous food in a family environment!

Bootleggers has always served great food in a great atmosphere! The roasted garlic appetizer is yummy. You can't beat sitting on the patio on a hot summer night with a glass of vino!

Limited but good

I have to say, I found their dinner menu lacking. What we did order, however, was very good. It can be a bit pricey for both lunch and dinner, but I have always enjoyed the meal when I got it. The prime rib is very good, and the steaks as well. Their lunch menu is more impressive with excellent salads and gourmet sandwiches.
